Zoë Sallis was born in India and educated in England. She met and fell in love with film director John Huston in 1960, and they had a son, Danny, now a well-known actor and director. Zoë is the author of Our Stories, Our Visions. She has acted in various films and plays, and lived in Rome for twenty years. She now lives in London.
