Overview

During the Second half of the Twentieth Century, East and West stood on the brink of war. No where was this more evident than central Germany, where NATO stood ready to resist an attack by Warsaw Pact forces led by the Soviet Union. It was a war that never was. But what if it had? How would the opening days of World War III played out?

TEAM YANKEE, the New York Times bestseller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would be like for the officers and men of an American tank-heavy team who would have fought that war. Using the geo-political scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, a former commander of NATO's Northern Army Group and author of World War III, August 1985, TEAM YANKEE follows the war as seen by the soldiers who would have fought it.
