Overview

Terri Morgan and her young son have found a sanctuary at Trails End. She is running from her abusive ex-husband, Lucas Berringer. He was released from prison and has tried to kidnap their young son, Phillip. The position of trainer and hired hand suites her array of equestrian skills. The Carsons need her as much as she needs them. Bill Carson is laid up from an accident and welcomes the attractive help. Wilma is busy aiding Bill. Both see in Terri a potential mate for their oldest son. Quinton Carson is a four time World Champion bull rider. The last bone breaking ride is his last. The professional bull managed to make Quinton recognize his own immortality. Arriving home in the early morning hours and reeking of spilled beer, he mistakenly terrifies Terri when he tries to enter the family apartment to rest and cleanup before announcing his arrival in the morning. Terri sees in Quinton a man just like Lucas. Charming, handsome, oozing sex appeal; he is everyone woman’s dream. However, Lucas was her nightmare. Smitten by the hired hand’s beauty, Quinton apologizes for the misunderstanding. He doesn’t know that under the classic façade is an insecure woman who was almost beat to death by her husband and had to have facial reconstruction. She’ll accept his apology for she made a mistake when she mistook him for Lucas. However, she is determine not to repeat the cycle of violence with a handsome brute. Sparks fly as Quinton pursues Terri and she rebuffs him. The elder Carsons realize it’s going to take their meddling to get those two together. Meanwhile, danger grows near as Lucas Berringer’s search for Terri bears fruit. He’s determined to finish what he started—kill her, take Phillip and disappear.
