Born in a small town on the Pacific coast of Guatemala, that's it; I was four years old, and I don't remember anything. I do know this; Guatemala it's filled with cultural richness and wonderfully kind people. So, from the early age of 4-years-old, I was brought up in the City of Angels. My father brought us (my mom, my brother, and myself) to the city of dreams, movies, entertainment, art, music, sports, food, and culture, also known as Los Angeles, California. I love L.A. Go Dodgers! Go Lakers!
I look back, and I have been drawing for since I can remember. In my elementary years, my teachers would buy me art supplies in return for art favors. As a student at Taft High School, my talents it's been implemented in school projects, like designing t-shirts, mascots, and logos. My artwork it's been admired by peers, teachers, and professors. I've always dreamt of making it big in Hollywood and having my creations coming to life in film and animation. I am a storyteller, my love for drawing comic books and fantasy art is always with me. I love movies.
My motivation has allowed me to have worked in movie sets, commercials, television shows and have auditioned for voice-overs for cartoons. I worked as a preschool teacher, contractor, truck driver, mail handler for the United States Postal Service. I also worked at the Department of Homeland at the Los Angeles airport and Austin Bergstrom International airport in Texas. I even ventured into the t-shirt business, hoping to get my artistic talent back to work by printing my artwork and designs on t-shirts. "Tamales for You" was born in collaboration with our creative team called "The Home of the Q's." We are excited about the future and now look forward to bringing smiles to readers of all ages with our books. "Tamales for You" is the first of many to come from Author Victor Quinonez and his family "The Home of the Q's."
