Overview

“The Glowing Grove” is the opening story of the collection. This fantasy story follows Lucious as he runs from a hunter. Along his travels, his goals slowly shift from protecting himself to protecting the misfits that join him along the way.
“Moments in Time” is a story about Lucious and his wife Sarah and how fast things can change within an hour. Their lives get disrupted by the church, which has been hunting any non-human magic users. Lucious must defend his family and way of life in this fast-paced fantasy story.
“The Gifted Blade” is a story about processing grief and how Lucious deals with the loss of someone close to him. Dealing with emotions that he thought he had shut off long ago leaves him confused and unsure of where to go.
“Reflected in Ice” is a short story based in the modern age and follows Lucious as he overcomes challenges to compete in an ice sculpture contest. He must follow his instincts and adapt to each new challenge.

Caitlin Bergquist is a novelist who specializes in High Fantasy. She is pursuing a BFA in creative writing from Full Sail University. She is a member of the Full Sail Creative Writing Club and was a Public Affairs Journalist for the Army. When she is not immersed in her writing, she is usually found curled up and playing video games. She likes to stick with cozy simulation games, but sometimes her adventurous streak will kick in and she may play a horror game while hiding behind a blanket for protection.
