Overview

King Arthur is dead... meet his daughter Rhianna Pendragon!

Rhianna has grown up in hiding on the enchanted isle of Avalon, where she learns to ride a magical mist horse with the help of her friend Prince Elphin. When Merlin arrives through the mist, bringing the king's body felled in battle by the dark knight Mordred, Rhianna sets out for Camelot determined to find her father's missing sword Excalibur and challenge her cousin for the throne. But once they leave Avalon's shore, she and her friends encounter Mordred's witch-mother, Morgan Le Fay, and find themselves fighting a lot more than Arthur's human enemies.

"Weaves Arthurian legend, Celtic myth and imagination into a romping tale. Rhianna has you on her side long before she rides into battle brandishing Excalibur." The Times

Book 1 of the enchanting Pendragon Legacy series by the award-winning author of 'Song Quest'.

About the Author

Katherine Roberts grew up in the south west of England, where her first fantasy stories were told to her little brother at bedtime. She graduated in mathematics from the University of Bath, after which she worked with computers. When redundancy struck in 1989, she fulfilled a childhood dream of working with horses in a racing yard, writing short stories in her spare time. Her first novel Song Quest won the 2000 Branford Boase Award, kick-starting her career as an author. Her books have been published by HarperCollins, Chicken House and Scholastic US, and translated into 12 languages worldwide – one of them even hit the bestseller list in Taiwan.

Away from her computer, Katherine enjoys folk music, cycling, skiing, and horse riding. She has flown a glider solo and scared herself doing aerobatics in a small plane. All of these experiences eventually find their way into her books – though sometimes the horse becomes a unicorn, and the plane becomes a dragon!
