Overview

This ebooklet is a crochet pattern (U.S. Abbreviations) showing you how to make these fast and easy maple leaves! There are two versions, a 3-point maple leaf and a 5-point maple leaf; both patterns include only 3 rounds of single, double and triple crochet. They are a snap! You'll need to know decrease dc and sc (crocheting two stitches together), sc, dc, chain, slip stitch, and tc (triple crochet). You can add decorative stitching to the edges if you wish, but just as they are they're fast and darling. Make them up as window ornaments, for a fall tree, or let them drift down the edge of a guest towel or potholder. Just in time for spring or fall projects, and a delightful way to use up your scraps of yarn.

Dimensions and Materials:

The finished leaves measure 2 1/2 to 4 inches across, depending upon the size of your stitches and characteristics of your yarn. The pattern is intended for standard weight (medium or worsted weight) yarn and a size I or J hook. (5.5 mm or 6 mm) If you wish you can work them in lighter weight yarn and a G hook (4.25 mm), or even crochet thread and a size 4 (1.75 mm) steel thread crochet hook. There are photos showing the projects in progress, and simple crochet diagrams which show you all of the stitches.
