About the Author

Joe Raposo (1937-1989) began playing piano as a child, and later studied piano with the great Nadia Boulanger in Paris. A serendipitous meeting with Jim Henson in the 1960s led Raposo to join the team behind the creation of Sesame Street, for which he served as musical director for several years. He wrote more than two thousand songs for Sesame Street, earning three Emmys for his work on the show.
