As the story unfolds, two aliens, Tivy, a pilot and Cominfu, a scientist, have been positioned in a stationary orbit above the United States for several weeks. The reason for the two being there in their small efficient craft is simple; The Drumilian Dominion, the intergalactic power to which they belong, has assigned the team to monitor various signals which are being beamed to an Earth communication satellite.
While the two aliens hack into the uploaded transmissions, Alby Townes, a typical American father Connecticut prepares to go on a business trip. He decides it would be advantageous to include his thirteen year old son, A.J., into his plans. However, while in Phoenix, Becky Halenway, an attractive business associate joins the father and son on their journey to California
The three decide that since they have enough time before the scheduled business meeting in California, a one day side trip to the Grand Canyon could be taken. But as fate will have it the travelers from Connecticut meet with the travelers from space and the story begins.
