Regardless of what society says, God teaches that your real beauty is not skin deep. It goes much deeper than what you can see on the outside. Real beauty comes from inside. It begins when you give heart and life to Jesus Christ…and He begins to change you from the inside out. You real beauty is your inner beauty. The Bible will be used to explain and confirm how God views you.
Week 1 introduces that true beauty shows in your attitudes, your words, and your actions. It is reflected on the outside when you makes right choices in your everyday life. You will learn how comparing yourself to another, or trying to measure up to the images you see on television or in a magazine, can teach you to hate your own body. It can give you the wrong idea of what real beauty is which God says comes from within It is good for you to be reminded that God created each and every woman uniquely beautiful, with her own God-given features and characteristics, including you.
Week 2 shares that contrary to popular belief, real beauty doesn’t come from having a pretty face, a shapely body, and fashionable clothes. It comes from a heart and life surrendered to God, and is reflected when you allow His love to shine through you. You will learn how this kind of beauty is far more important, according to God’s Word, than the shallow beauty that the “right look” can give. One of the authors' own struggle with an eating disorder is shared to help you understand the risks of letting other people’s opinions influence your view of yourself.
Week 3 teaches that the clothes you wear, how you style your hair, how you wear her make-up, and how you carry yourself in public gives people an impression of who they think you are. All of those things help to shape how people view you. However, God wants you to know that He loves you with an everlasting love and that no amount of dieting, exercise, makeup, plastic surgery, or changes in hair and eye color will cause Him to love you any more or any less.
Week 4 suggests a date for mother and daughter to celebrate your relationship, share what you learned and pray for one another. An action point to apply what you have learned is identified.
This is the third style of nine styles that will help you grow into the woman God designed you to be. Each style looks at a different area of your life, such as beauty, fashion, and friendships. You will learn life skills and values through studying these styles that will build character into your life and equip you to make a difference in your world.
