About the Author

SaFiya D. Hoskins, Ph.D. earned a doctorate in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS; and,
from Howard University in Washington, DC she earned an MA in Communication and Culture and a BA in Journalism. Dr. Hoskins has written over 70 articles for the African American National Biography, a Harvard University project edited by Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. on Oxford University Press and she has contributed to over 20 independent projects including an anthology of poetry. Dr. Hoskins has written a contemporary novel and she is co-author of 'Murder to Excellence: Growth and Development for the Millennial Generation, the Autobiography of Wallace 'Gator' Bradley' with Wallace Bradley and Dr. Cornel West (foreword).
