About the Author

Alexis is a first-time author who aspires to write one more book. Born in Danville, VA but raised in Washington, D.C(also known as “Uptown”). Educated in the District of Columbia Public School system, Alexis graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 2002. Continuing in her educational career, Alexis attended the University of the District of Columbia where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Office Administration degree. She is currently in the process of completing research paper for her graduate studies to complete her Doctorate in Business Administration at Walden University. Her inspiration through the entire process has been her children. She always wants them to look up to their mother as a positive
role model and to know that they can do anything they put their minds to. “The only thing standing between you and your pursuit of happiness is you”. An encourager by nature, Alexis can be found being the light at the end of the tunnel for those who feel there is not one, while being a positive influence for herself and her beautiful children. Alexis is a successful single African American mother of five of the most precious children: Amiyah (20), Mia (14), Aaron (12) Demi (4), and Drew (2). Alexis has been blessed to become a great mother to her children and a great role model for others. Her life motto is: “only the strong survive, only the wise excel.” She loves this quote because she is a survivor which is where her strength has come from to continue to pursue her dreams. When she is not writing you can find her relaxing watching a movie, being a mom, and planning her next vacation .
