Strength and Honor: The Sanu'te' Chronicles Book 1
Betrayal, pride, and prophecy. These are the tools used to dishonor the knight of Khoranthus named Sanu'te'. Twenty years within the knighthood, two decades spent as the order's most lethal weapon, mean little to the woman that has now turned upon her brethren, cutting a bloody swath throughout the land as she takes what is hers by right, vengeance. Long has Sanu'te' been a faithful servant of Khoranthus, obeying the grandmaster, a man she sees almost as a father, Tobias, in every endeavor he has ever sent her to attain.
None know exactly why the former knight has seen fit to destroy her brethren, save one. The grandmaster to the order of Khoranthus knows of the prophecy that speaks of a child that shall be born, one that shall sunder the very foundations of all he holds dear. The words, damning in their certainty, written before Sanu'te' even drew her first breath, serve as a dire portent to the downfall of the church, a fate that Tobias cannot and will not allow. He will not see some archaic and ridiculous poem become the death knell of all he holds dear, though neither does he wish for the destruction of his most prized pupil.
Sending forth several individuals that he is certain will have luck finding his pupil, Tobias knows still in his heart that for Sanu'te' to return, it must be done so of her own volition. She is the deadliest of his flock, trained to be a killer, the sword of his holy father Khoranthus, and as such Tobias knows that she will not come peacefully. Thus he takes every measure he can, consorts with the worst of his enemies, all in the effort to retain his wayward student.
Little does Tobias know of the changes that threaten the stability of the realm as old grudges are relit within the dark shadows. Hidden threats threaten to emerge even as the quest for Sanu'te' continues to its final and grisly end, the entirety of the realm threatened as the tragic tale plays out.
Hounded by her former comrades, haunted by a past that will not die, Sanu'te' traverses the realm of Mydest and further, crossing paths with a curious druid and his strange serpentine companion on her quest for revenge. From the burning sands of the Koarinye Desert to the lush forests of Mydest, her footsteps take her far and wide across the face of the realm, her blade slaking its thirst as she seeks the truth of whom she truly is, and why she must take back what is hers.
