STRANDED KNITTING: It's Easier Than You Think
"I am about to destroy a myth here", writes Deborah Tomasello in her opening page. "Are you ready? Here goes: Knitting with color is easy. It isn't rocket science. Shoot, it isn't even algebra." With ample gusto and humor, Stranded Knitting guides its reader through the beginning details of colorwork (such as pattern choice, tension tips and reading charts), as well as five joyously colorful projects. Once you get your knitting toes wet (and for some of us, knitting toes is literal!), you will want to dive right in. Go ahead-- it's easier than you think!

About the Author

Biography
"Some people see a gorgeous sunset and photograph it. Others paint it. I knit it. Fiber and fabric are my media. Knitting that sunset makes it mine."

"I am Deborah. I am fortunate to be able to spend my days doing the things I love most in life: knitting, sewing, designing, reading and writing. I am trying to learn, with an open mind, as much as I can from this life without having to repeat my mistakes or the mistakes of my parents."

Deborah Tomasello learned to knit and sew at her grandmother's knee when
she was about five years old. Some of her fondest memories of her Gramma
involve yarn and needles. She would start with grand ideas of knitting a scarf,
but after working a few inches, when something of a lacy trapezoid would
appear, she'd turn that scarf-gone-awry into a skirt for her Barbie. Over the
years, her scarves became straighter, and her imagination broadened. Wools and
fabrics have woven themselves into Deborah's very being, and she spends all her days happily designing and knitting her colorwork patterns.
