About the Author

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network is an international ecclesial ministry served by the Jesuits that reaches more than 50 million participants worldwide through its popular website, talks, conferences, radio outreach, publications, and retreats. Each year the Holy Father asks that Christian and non-Christian alike join in praying for his particular intentions on the challenges facing humanity. Rev. William Prospero, S.J. (1965–2014), entered the Society of Jesus in 1987, was ordained a priest in 1998, and pronounced his final vows in 2007. He served at Red Cloud Indian School, Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and the Sioux Spiritual Center, Plainview, South Dakota. Fr. Prospero worked in campus ministry at Marquette University from 2000 to 2006; was pastor at St. Mary’s University Parish, St. Pleasant, Michigan, from 2006 to 2012; and was spiritual director at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary, Emmitsburg, Maryland, from 2012 to 2013.

Fr. James Kubicki, SJ, serves as a spiritual director at St. Francis de Sales Seminary in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. He is a popular conference and parish mission speaker, retreat director, and the author of A Heart on Fire and A Year of Daily Offerings.

Kubicki previously served as the national director of the Apostleship of Prayer (now the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network) and as the president of St. Francis Mission on South Dakota’s Rosebud Reservation. Kubicki entered the Society of Jesus in 1971 and was ordained in 1983. He has served the Jesuits in numerous capacities including, vocations, priestly formation, and deacon and lay ministry formation.
