Overview

Two polar opposite lives become intertwined in the most unusual circumstances during the height of World War II.

Hazel is a young Jewish woman in hiding and makes the decision that could change her life forever. She saves a German officer's life when he is left for dead. She struggles to handle her family's outrage, the hatred from the very man whose life she saved, and her own morality.

Mark is a German officer who was fueled by hatred for years. Overtime, he begins to question his morals and fights for Hazel's survival in return. But at what costs?

Betrayal, passion, secrets, lies, and love pave their existence during the height of World War II. Will they find a way through the war unscathed? Or will their hate for one another be their demise?

About the Author

A. N. Mendez joined Wattpad, an online writing community to share her rough draft stories. To her utter surprise, Star Crossed Enemies grew in popularity quickly. 1.6 million reads from all across the globe.

Her life story has taken a whirlwind of adventure much like her books. She has been a “professional student” at various levels of education and institutions over the years concentrating on trauma psychology, various types of anthropology, philosophy, and pre-medical studies. More recently, her studies have become focused on biosecurity in agriculture for the prevention of zoonotic diseases.

Now a disabled veteran and “retired”, A. N. Mendez has committed to the one hobby she has loved for almost two decades….writing novels. In her spare time, she can be found with her husband of over fifteen years and children on their working ranch.
