British anarcho crust punks Conflict are serviced nicely on the two-volume STANDARD ISSUE compilation. The first volume collects the band's early singles from 1982 to '87, capturing the fiercely political band's rage in its nascent stage. U.K. hardcore classics such as "From Protest to Resistance" and "This is Not Enough" are so bracing and offer such an urgent call-to-arms, one listen makes it nearly impossible to ever believe that the Sex Pistols really did "mean it man."
