About the Author

His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami appeared in this world in 1957 in England. He joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in London in 1975 and was initiated in that year with the name Ilapati dasa by ISKCON’s founder-acarya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. From 1977 to 1979 His Holiness was based in India, mostly traveling in West Bengal preaching Krishna consciousness and distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books. He then spent the following ten years helping to pioneer ISKCON’s preaching in Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand, and Malaysia. In 1989 he was granted the order of sannyasa, receiving the name Bhakti Vikasa Swami, and again made his base in India. He has since travelled widely throughout the subcontinent, lecturing in English, Hindi, and Bengali. His Holiness also travels to and preaches Krishna consciousness in other parts of the world. He continues to write books and magazine articles. His books have been translated into more than fifteen languages.

There is something new (at least to my limited knowledge) and enlivening on every page. Several times I have started reading "just a little before I go to bed" around 9 pm and the next thing I know it is 10:30 pm and I don't want to stop. .On another topic, congratulations on the completion and publication of your book on Saraswati Thakura. I have it but haven't yet been able to enter into it's depths. Too busy with retreats etc. But it really appears to be a work of devotion that has been well done. I've heard quite a few devotees already mention to me how it has changed their percspective on Krsna consciousness.

Congratulations and thanks on the publication of Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava. It is a monumental work and without doubt the culmination of years of intense study, research and meditation. On reading it I finally understand our Srila Prabhupada's words that he did not understand much of what Srila Bhaktisiddhanta was saying. I had always kind of doubted that, thinking that it was some kind of humility in the presence of the guru or something of that nature.
