Purpose: According to the authors, this book is intended to help provide athletes a visual edge in a variety of sports while maintaining ocular safety. Optimizing a person's visual skills can have dramatic affects on athletic performance; therefore, this book is an important contribution in vision care.
Audience: Eye care providers will benefit the most from this book. However, physical therapists involved with athletes will also find it of interest. The authors are well respected in the field of optometry and sports vision and bring a nice balance to the book.
Features: It begins with comprehensive categorizations of the necessary visual dynamics involved in various athletic activities. The appropriate visual evaluations and screening methods are described, as is the corresponding testing equipment. Helpful color photographs throughout the book maximize learning comprehension.
