Overview

As a member of Hawkwind and in his solo career beyond, Nik Turner has always had a penchant for producing music that can get quite weird -- sometimes too weird. On Sphynx, Turner focuses his space music attention on the legends and magic of old Egypt, and it really works. The material is quite spacy and odd, but really doesn't go too far overboard. It also manages to capture the Egyptian textures that he is working toward quite well. ~ Gary Hill
