ONI assigns Senior Chief Rigney "Rig" Page undercover to assist local intelligence agents in the murder investigation.

Lieutenant Christine Hawthorne is Rig's boss onboard the Rota-based submarine tender. They rekindle their romance that began in Scotland several years before.

During the murder investigation, Rig encounters and battles a Spanish crime family engaged in espionage against NATO.

As Rig assembles the pieces of the espionage puzzle, he uncovers the ancient secret of Sedo Mare.
