Overview

Eliphet the Elder, of the Universal Cat Council, inspires the graduating catdets of the Compucat Academy with a story from the life of Colonel Catmando. This first adventure reveals how the Colonel crash-lands on Earth, starts a catective agency with Rat-Tat-Cat and Birdella Blue Jay, and becomes known as Space Kitty.

In the small town of Newdale, Washington, trouble brews in the cat kingdom. The Grand Bubastis, disguised under a variety of shopping bags, recruits a group of tough alleycats and Red Breasted Sapsuckers to form the Cat O'Nine Tails society and carry out his plot to overthrow the royal family of cats. Suddenly, kittens disappear at alarming rates just as Prince Rex Von Cat is about to marry cat food commercial star Catalina Wish.

The humans of Newdale are also in crisis, as all of their socks mysteriously disappear during the coldest winter of the century. Unable to find the thief or recover their socks, Mayor "Uncle" Buddy Wish declares an emergency as disease rages through The Little City on the Lake.

A delightful tale of of irony and intrigue, The Mystery of the Lost Socks charms with devious deception, catnapping, sock stealing, a fragrance factory, power potions, fairy godcats, and yes... a cat from outer space.

About the Author

Bryce and Dale have been married for 28 years.

They began this book on their honeymoon and finished it ten years later. After hundreds of rejection letters from publishers and agents, they finally signed with an agent, who retired shortly thereafter from a life threatening illness.

They put the book away for other projects: Music, screenplays, art, therapy, seminars, working to make a living, etc. In the meantime, personal computing went from 0 to 100 in a few decades and opened up untold avenues of distribution.

Hence, this book in digital form. Enjoy.
