About the Author

The dodecahedron. That’s where this all began. To be a bit more specific, a friend and I thought it would be fun to see if we could create a table top role-playing game where the mechanics were based on the twelve-sided die. Needless to say, but I’m going to anyway, we were never able to get it to work. Yet, after all the brainstorming I could not leave the ideas behind. Instead of trying to create a whole new mechanics set, I decided to go with my favorite; the percentile base. As for why I chose the eight-sided dice for the damage, it’s simply that the number eight is my favorite number. For over twenty years, I have been modifying this game into what it is today.
I’m a Georgia native that enjoys reading fantasy novels, mythologies, tales of folklore, and Epic literature such as Gilgamesh, The Iliad, and The Odyssey. I also have spent much time with various table-top games, Live Action Role Playing games (LARPS to my fellow nerds/geeks/dorks), comic books, and video games. My love of stories led me to attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Literature. The content of my studies, the Epics, influenced not only the name of this game, but the cover design and hopefully the general feel of the game. I am luckily and happily married to a wonderful woman named Rebecca who shares similar nerd-tastic hobbies.
