Overview

Jessica is perfect in every way, at least to most people in her high school. She’s beautiful, smart, thin, and athletic. She represents all that’s good in life; however, she is hiding a secret from the rest of the world. No one knows about the abuse she suffers at home. One fateful night Jessica dreams of a stranger who learns of her secret. He consoles her and lets her know he is there to help. The next day Jessica is shocked to find a new boy checking into her high school that looks just like the boy in her dream. Could it be a strange coincidence, a case of mistaken identity, or could some other forces be at work? Jessica finds out she is not the only one hiding a secret. She also learns how destiny and reality can collide, and how sometimes we must fight for our "happily ever after".

About the Author

Hello! I'm D.S.Baze. I am a wife, a mother, and a chronic daydreamer. I started writing in high school. Usually, dumb little things to catch people's attention or to entertain. In 1993 it took a more serious turn. I was in counseling and turned to writing as a way to heal. I found I could express my own emotions and thoughts more thoroughly through my characters. That is how my book "Soul Mates" was born. My first writing of it was a milder version. I wanted younger kids to be able to read it. In 2009 an old high school friend, who is a published author, came back into my life and strongly encouraged me to pick it back up and edit it. In that process I ended up re-writing many parts suited for the more mature readers and changed the ending. When I finished, I realized my true vision was to give hope to young women trying to find a way to heal themselves.
