A cheaper, shorter alternative to Greatest Hits (2008), S.O.U.L. contains three of Joe's four Top Ten R&B/Hip-Hop singles released through 2001: "All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)," "I Wanna Know," and "Stutter." "I'm in Luv," a song a casual Joe fan probably expects in a package such as this one, is absent. This makes for a decent, if flawed, sampling of Joe's first six albums (from 1993's Everything through 2007's Ain't Nothin' Like Me). Some of the deeper album picks are smart, but they're often at the expense of charting singles that received a fair amount of radio play. ~ Andy Kellman
