"Sophia and Alex Celebrate Winter Break" is one of eleven volumes in the "Sophia and Alex" series, written by Author Denise Bourgeois-Vance and illustrated by Artist Damon Danielson. The theme of the book centers on Sophia and Alex experiencing family traditions and recognizing other customs from cultures found around the world. The children learn that every tradition has value within a given culture or family and should be celebrated as each family wishes.
The 32-page illustrated book shows varying types of customs, religions, and cultures so that children know that even though we don't all think, believe, or feel the same, that's ok. They learn at an early age that differences exist in the world, and this is what makes life so interesting.
