The sound of my heart grew louder the moment Lamont's eyes fell on me. Lamont's place is where we chill every Friday night. It was always our night to spend time with each other. A movie and a dinner, just me and some of his friends. However, this is the night everything will change. It's just me and him. Tension was in the atmosphere the moment I walked into his place. His gaze held me captive. I studied closely his every detail. His eyes. His lips. His touch. Him. He always had this type of effect on me. He was truly the melody to my heartbeat, but still I wonder if this was really the man of my dreams as time seems to unveil different versions of the man, I thought I knew. He was capricious in his thoughts and in his supposed love. Why did I stay? Why couldn't I leave? Why couldn't he let my heart go free? I had a choice in the matter, I had a choice to leave when his truth was finally unveiled. But here I stand face to face with death as silence lingered after the moment of chaos.
