Soldier of Love

This story is about one man's love for a woman that, despite all insurmountable odds, remains intact. Its setting is the seizure of a government hospital facility overrun by persons discharged from the armed forces and their kin. Fed-up with the bureaucracy, lack of medical attention, and emotional support, these storm the center in hopes of confiscating a nerve agent that threatens the whole of humanity. The entire tale is centered on our hero, Raul Cabrera. Puerto Rican, he's a handicapped, decorated marine who's always had a bad rap. Amidst the action is our heroine Nicole Nelson. African American, she's accompanied at the hospital with her family for surgery on her son, Nicholas. His tonsils removed, the very day of his discharge the hospital is overtaken by the above-mentioned group in hopes of selling the dreaded agent on the black market for millions. Nicole's husband and son are detained as hostages, and it's her hope to strike a deal with the leader of the clan, Raul, to allow them all a release. Singly they're entrapped by his spiteful sister Ragan, Nicole's maniacal stepfather Snyder, a sybaritic drug dealer named Norman Rowe, and the notorious government secret stealing Black Swan, Jay DiTrinidad. Will they remain unscathed . . . and find one another once again? Snyder discovers their tryst, but not their marriage, which is concealed by another CIA agent. But Snyder plants a love interest for Nicole, Andre, to keep an eye on her in case Raul contacts her. Raul is distressed at her marriage, but fervently hopes she senses, feels his love for her as ripples in a pond. She marries Andre, becomes a polyandrist, but doesn't discover Andre's prevarication until their honeymoon. Snyder's heard the Black Swan will steal the deadly agent and the entire operation on her son Nicky is a means to capture the lot of them. When the bunch flee the hospital with the nerve agent, Ragan and her boyfriend, Jay DiTrinidad, have set charges to blow up the building. She and Andre fall to their deaths. Later, it's learned that Snyder had the entire operation on Nicky done so Nicole would leave with Raul and they would know their location and arrest Raul. But Nicole and Raul have other hidden agendas. Raul eventually slips Nicole and Noelle from under Snyder's fiefdom of the CIA in one fell swoop! Later he declares to her, ". . . You're the one for me . . . I would've have waited forever for us to be together."
