So We'll Start Here

In "The Way Trouble Starts", readers can only read in horror as Damian, a transgender man, is drowning to death after getting lost on his way home. The story tugs on the heart strings of many as he can't ask for help in his transphobic hometown. The next short story, "Public", has a little girl and her mother being attacked by a racist group that discriminates her for fun. While the townspeople grow to feel remorseful, the attack leaves the victims shaken and destroyed. "Shapeshifter" forces readers to think about themselves and their identity. Are they happy with who they are? Or are they hiding their true selves? Each short story explores identity issues and how societal expectations can affect others. Our differences make us unique and beautiful. Using our differences to divide us further does nothing but bring harm.

Hello! I am a trans adult venturing into writing. I grew up in New York. I enjoy writing next to an open flame from a fireplace while hearing the sounds of the city below me.
