About the Author

Best selling author Lorana Hoopes is the author of both Christian romances and Children's early readers. She is originally from Texas but now lives in the PNW with her husband and three kids. Many of her books are set in Texas, close to her roots, and her Wishing Stone books are based on her three children.

Her Wishing Stone books have been picked up by several schools and used as a summer reading book. They employ a glossary of challenging words and a resource list at the end so children can do additional research. She will be adding a Christian line to the Wishing Stone series soon.

She has several contemporary romance series spanning women's fiction, small towns, football players, and billionaires. She also has a speculative fiction series and a romantic suspense series.

This was my favorite of the shorts so far. The author did a great job on Tess and Samuel's story. When Tess came back home to help her mom when she got sick, we see a change in Tess. We learn what caused the friction between her and Kirsten. Samuel, a doctor and Kirsten's brother, got to know Tess and saw something good in her. They became friends and he was there for her when she really needed one. Their story is well worth reading

Tess is in town to help her ill mom at her bakery. Samuel is a doctor in town also Kristen's brother from the previous story. In high school Tess as not a nice person, did some mean things to Kristen. But has she changed? She sets her sights on Samuel now. But her mom is ill so he enlists his help to help her mom. Nice easy read story. Again, can't wait to see what happens in the next story. Quick read, sit back and enjoy this story.

Tess wasn't a nice person at first especially since put out nasty rumors about Kristen in high school and admitted going after her last husband for money. But she changes when her mom gets sick and has to ask for help. Samuel was a stand up nice guy, who went out of his way to make sure Tess's mom got the treatment she needed and their cupcake shop kept its business by bringing in family and friends to help. I'm looking forward to epilogues that wrap up these three stories.

I didn't like Tess or Samuel at the beginning. When Tess needed a friend Samuel was there for her. I just wish he had been more sensitive to his sister's feelings. Glad to see Tess finally apologize - doesn't matter how long ago what she did happened. The ending was really good and looking forward to the next book.

A fun short story. The 3rd story in this series and worth the read. I received an ARC from the author and I am truly loving this series. I like getting to know, really know a couple of characters at a time and to watch their characters blossom. Happy Reading !!
