David's six giants are not the literal giants like Goliath that he and his warriors killed. These six giants are problems, decisions, or actions. If they are not addressed in life, they become a challenge to overcome. David struggles not only with deeper internal issues but also with people. Some sins have detrimental consequences that continue even after we are dead. David's sin with Bathsheba is a huge problem that affects his entire family for many years. To lack correction and discipline is to invite disaster. The Lord is merciful and forgives our sins, but the consequences are ours. One lesson to learn from his life and from this book is to respect and honor what Jesus has done on the cross for us all. His life on the cross was the price for our sin; therefore, we must live in righteousness and holiness. Because He says: "Be holy, because I am holy."
