About the Author

Cary has been a theatre teacher for twenty eight years, twenty five of them at Manchester High School in Midlothian Virginia. Though this book was written while he was a middle manager at an ice rink, it was finally put together with the help of his colleagues at Manchester. Cary's theatre background led to his reading this story aloud to Crestwood Elementary school students (his boys were currently attending at the time) and this inspired him to make the story and illustrated children's book. Twenty seven years after it was written, his first children's book--and hopefully not his last--has been published. Additionally, he has published a play adaptation of Aesop's How the Elephant Got His Trunk through YouthPLAYS. Cary lives in North Chesterfield Virginia with his wife Michelle, his sons Truman and Trenton, two dogs and two cats.

Leann is an amazing graphic arts teacher and colleague. She worked tirelessly to format this book and I will be forever grateful.
