About the Author

Dr. David Quillen is the George and Barbara Blankenship Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He also serves as Director of Penn State Health Eye Center. Dr. Quillen has over 25 years of experience as a clinician-educator caring for patients with retinal diseases. He is an award-winning teacher and a recognized leader in ophthalmology medical student and resident education. Dr. Quillen has served as President of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and as a member of the ACGME ophthalmology review committee.
