Simply Darwin tells the story of Charles Robert Darwin (1809–1882) and his theory of evolution through natural selection. Michael Ruse is the Lucyle T. Werkmeister Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Program in the History and Philosophy of Science at Florida State University. He is the author or editor of more than fifty books, including The Gaia Hypothesis: Science on a Pagan Planet, The Cambridge Encyclopedia of Darwin and Evolutionary Thought and Atheism: What Everyone Needs to Know.
