About the Author

Gaetano Cipolla is a professor emeritus from St. John's University who is regarded as one of the leading authorities on Sicilian language and culture. He is also a translator and a publisher. He has founded three series of books: "Pueti d'Arba Sicula/ Poets of Arba Sicula" "Sicilian Sttudies" and "Italian Poetry in Translation" He has written many essays on Italian literature, including "What Italy Has Gven to the World", The Sounds of Sicilian," "Labyrinth: Studies on an Archetype" and others.
