About the Author

Ernst v Enzmann was born in Austria, one of six siblings, and became a kindergarten and primary school teacher. He was drafted into Franz Josef's army for combat in Serbia, then the eastern Russian front. Taken in 1917 in the Brusilov offensive, he later escaped to Peking, China were he met his wife, a medical missionary from Bath, Maine, USA. Departing impossible China due to Japan's Indus war, also fleeing madhouse Europe, they settled in Cambridge, MA where he gained a PhD at Harvard.
