Chapter One

There once was a sea shell named Shelly. Shelly never had a family or a permanent home. She lived in the ocean and traveled with the currents of the sea. Because she traveled throughout the oceans, Shelly had the opportunity to see many views around the world. Shelly loved it.

One day Shelly was floating through the ocean when she saw a group of sea turtles traveling together. One of the sea turtles swam over to Shelly to talk to her.

"Hi! I'm Liam," said the sea turtle. "My friends and I are going to see the coast of New Zealand. Would you like to come with us?"

"Of course I would!" said Shelly. So she sat on Liam's back and off they went. Shelly was really excited to go see a new part of the world.

It wasn't much longer before they came upon the coast of New Zealand. The view was beautiful; there was lush greenery as far as the eye can see. Although they were enjoying New Zealand, Liam and his friends decided it was time to go back to their home, the Great Barrier Reef. He invited Shelly to come with them. So, she sat on Liam's shell and off they went.

Before Shelly knew it, they were among one of the most breath- taking undersea coral formations she had ever seen. Liam showed Shelly around the Great Barrier Reef. She was astounded by the magnificent natural beauty of the reef.

But Liam was really adventurous and wanted to see more of the world; therefore, he and Shelly decided to go explore. Once again, Shelly sat upon Liam's back and they ventured off into the big blue.

They traveled through the ocean for a while until they came upon the coastline of Singapore. The coastline was beautiful and made Shelly feel alive. The development of the country reminded Shelly that she was a part of a much bigger world.

But sadly, it was time for Liam to go back home to his family and friends. So they said their goodbyes, and Liam swam off and Shelly let the ocean take her away.
