Description: This is an excellent book for both experienced and novice nurses working in the field of emergency medicine. It covers both common as well as many rare events and the presentations are enhanced by great diagrams and pictures.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a guide to emergency nursing, a worthy endeavor in a complex field with ever expanding knowledge and technology.
Audience: The audience is broad, encompassing novice nurses as well as experienced nurses. The author is a recognized authority in the field.
Features: "The book is relevant and up to date with great tables, pictures, and diagrams. It covers trauma and its mechanisms as well as weapons of mass destruction. The book includes religious and cultural considerations, which is important in our shrinking world as varied populations mix and mingle, yet hold to their traditions. "
Assessment: This is a well-written and logically laid out book. It recounts the beginnings of emergency nursing and its evolution. I am still constantly learning after 10 years in this field, and this book will be a great addition to my shelf.
