The Story ...

Unintentionally returned to 18^th century Scotland. Tom Duncan, and his friend, the enigmatic, Dougie Allan begin their own perilous hunt for an ancient artefact. One that if found, could hold the key to humanity’s survival. But as both investigations commence, Reynolds and his team encounter a sinister religious sect. One whose disturbing rise to power has left governments around the world in turmoil. Led by a shadowy leader, the faith promotes peace for all. The highly anticipated sequel to the “Seventh Day” is finally here! The story continues on where it ended in the first book and we keep on following our heroes through their life-changing and World-changing journey. If you read the “Seventh Day”, then you must have had many questions and wondered what is going to happen. In “Shadows Rising” Andy Malone reveals many secrets and answers a lot of questions, but don’t worry – Andy is keeping the story tense, introducing new characters, new places and new plots!

Deadly action race against the clock and unexpected plots and twists will make it hard to put the book down. I desired similar pace, action sequences and wished for conspiracies and schemes – and I got all of these and more!

As I was reading, the story got me completely and I didn’t notice it was almost midnight. “WHAT?!? No way!”, I shouted as I finished reading the chapter and almost woke up entire family. There are lot more of unexpected moments and events. Splendid and detailed places, streets and buildings descriptions will captivate your attention, while vividly presented characters and action sequences will immerse you deeply and get you as close to the story as if you are there.

I highly recommend it and can only say what I said in the first book review: “Can’t wait to read the sequel! “

"Andy Malone returns with a second science fiction thriller that takes your breath from the first word. You start reading and without realising hours have passed and you are still reading. Every chapter ends with a cliffhanger or a surprising twist that makes you want to continue reading to see what will happen to the many interesting characters. Even a person like me, who doesn’t read a lot, loved this book. It’s full of mystery, suspense and thrilling twists.

Shadows Rising is the sequel to Malone’s first novel The Seventh Day, but it can be perfectly read as a stand-alone. I did not know about the first book when I started reading this one and I had no problems with understanding the story. All the characters are re-introduced shortly and the major events of the first book are recapped when necessary. However, I would advise people who like this sort of stories to read the first book as well because it is equally good.

If you like fantasy and science-fiction, this book is a must read!"

Andy Malone’s ‘Rising Shadows’ is a fantastic, exhilarating science fiction adventure, spanning three centuries, with many surprises, keeping you absorbed from start to finish.

‘Shadows Rising’ is the second part of a trilogy, the first being ‘The Seventh Day’ and equally as thrilling with its twists and turns, it leaves you wondering, whatever next! Can’t wait for part 3 and I’m looking forward to curling up and reading them again in front of the fire. Brilliant!
