Overview

After the world that he had come to know and love came crashing down around his feet, Lord Jason Tolbridge, former Commander of the Royal Legions of Ishtabar, strove to find himself. This he did as he settled down into the life of a hermit on a lone island far from his homeland, though a force came all too soon that would change Jason's life forever. Steel, a brazen young solider determined to make a mark within Ishtabar's Royal Legions, arrives on the back of a young red dragon. at his father's dying request, Steel seeks out Jason to ask if he will train him in the ways of war for he longs to advance from the ranks as a basic solider to those of an elite warrior. But when he approaches Jason, he discovers that he is no longer interested in the ways of war. Finally, after much cajoling, Jason agrees to teach the hot-tempered young man, against his better judgment. But with Ishtabar on the cusp of war, Jason and Steel are called back home. Will Jason finally be forced to come to terms with his past and face the present danger that may threaten his future?

About the Author

Discovering books at an early age, Shawn grew to love the written word. Every genre was a new take on life. The realms of fantasy with its strong heroes and magical dragons called to him, while suspense and horror with its intriguing heroes and villains showed all of twists and turns that life held. Then again, late Saturday nights watching Creature Feature on Channel 18 with his dad, left memories that would help him turn into the writer that he is today.
In 2010, Shawn published his first novel, Sense of Honor, and its sequel, Dragon's Chest. Turning what was originally to be a standalone novel into a series, The Tides of War. Also in 2010, Shawn co-authored Ripper's Row, with Donnie Light.
2011 brought the third installment in The Tides of War series, The Dark Caravan, and the second novel in the Ripper Trilogy, Ripper's Revenge which he again co-authored with Donnie Light.
In 2012 Shawn stepped alone into the world of horror with Little Valley and Wolves in Springfield.
2013 will see a zombie short story, Mississippi Dead, and Welcome to Plainfield. A paranormal suspense story based off of evidence recovered by Shawn's paranormal research team, Ghost Hunt America on an investigation on the murderer - Ed Gein, as well as Rose Marie, the fourth installment in the Tides of War series. Along with the third installment in the Ripper Trilogy, Ripper's Wrath, followed by the complete series in one epic volume.
