The fourth in Sinclair's "Bad Billionaires" series. Dominic Mercado and Meredith Forrester have known each other since high school but never acted on their mutual attraction—until circumstances force them together for a prolonged period. Building a lasting relationship might be more difficult than they initially believe. Readers might be frustrated by the first half of the book, where characters could—but don't—clear up their conflicts; they'll be rewarded in the second half as Sinclair depicts Dominic's past trauma, which has left him feeling unworthy of being in a relationship. Sinclair handles tough subjects with sensitivity, avoiding salacious details and judgement. VERDICT This well-drawn conflict elevates the second half of the book and builds to a very satisfying though somewhat abrupt conclusion, though readers looking for an emotional ending might be let down.
