About the Author

Sharmeka Ballard was born January 20, 1986, in Miami, Florida. Born and raised in the county of Dade (as they would say) Life wasn't all peaches and cream, the struggle was real. However, Sharmeka didn't let the challenging hand she was dealt keep her from going after and achieving her goals. Instead she turned her struggles into her passion for writing. Writing was and still is her escape from reality. Her love for reading inspired her even more to become an author. Shrmeka's journey for writing started at the tender age of 6, but her career began in 2009. That is when she published her first book of poetry, Soul of A Teenager. Soul of A Teenager is a collection of poems that were inspired by the different events in her life. After her release in 2009 she took a small break from writing to assist with mentoring other young writers achieve their goals of becoming successful authors. During her time mentoring she completed her first novel Ain't No Secret Safe in the Dark, which was released in March 2017. Her journey is far from over. Sharmeka plan to continuing working hard and releasing more vivid words on paper until becoming A New York Times Best Selling author.
