About the Author

Don Donovan was made in England in 1933 but has lived in New Zealand since 1960. He spent 42 years in advertising, his career terminating when he and fellow agency shareholders sold out to FCB Chicago in 1990. Since then has spent his time writing more than a score of published books, and a large output of print media articles. He occasionally joins the panel on Jim Mora’s ‘Afternoons’ programme on national Radio New Zealand. So-called retirement has allowed him to travel both at home and overseas - especially to northern Italy - on several occasions. On those trips he has made notes of experiences shared with his wife, Patricia, family members and other friends. He has written and/or illustrated over twenty books. His most recent books are: ‘Antipasto’ a random selection of writings, drawings and photographs mainly from visits to Tuscany; and ‘Little Donny’s Bedside Book’ a collection of articles published in newspapers, magazines and blogs over the last twenty years. Both of these books are available from blurb.com and may be found by entering ‘Don Donovan’ in its search box.
