About the Author

Joel’s goal in writing is “to study the aspects of hunting not often reflected in today’s high-tech, consumer-driven outdoor writing. I want to show what truly matters in hunting is the time it offers for reflection and for being with family and friends. Most important, hunting should be fun, as I think my book shows.” He is a frequent contributor to Deer and Deer Hunting magazine. He has also written for Sports Afield, Fur-Fish-Game, North American Whitetail, and several other magazines. Season of Obsession is his first book. Joel’s other hobbies include photography, music (piano, guitar), and hiking. He and Greta currently live in Newfane, New York, with their children, Jessica and Jennifer.
