Searching for Bhasani Citizen of the World: The Life and Times of (Earnest) Mozlum Leader Maulana Bhasani
Bhasani is a South Asian legend. He was a Sufi pir turned into politician. He was a contemporary of Nehru, A.K. Azad, and Jinnah. He was born in Pabna of undivided India, what is now in Bangladesh. For his belief in universalism and leading a selfless life he was dubbed by some as the" Gandhi of Bangladesh," The present work goes beyond the glancing portrait of Bhasani and presents the life of Bhasani, his ideological orientations and his lifelong struggle against oppressive regimes. In the book these ideas and more about Bhasani are examined in praxis with his struggle for protecting environment of the region. The present work was undertaken in response to some South Asian countries where millions of dollars in grants were being spent by the hero-worshipping successive governments to rewrite history books to promote their respective heroes, then a manufactured proto-history is released for the distribution in the print, and the electronic media. In this type of writing a distorted view was presented about leaders who otherwise brought great changes in South Asia. In this type of malicious effort, Bhasani was also reduced to what he was not. The victim of this trend of vilifying the perceived enemy seems knowledge itself. In this scenario, no doubt Epistemology, the mother of neglected child, knowledge cries out for help. In this book, Dr. Bahar an expert on South Asian political leaders specializing on ethics of leadership contributed his findings about Bhasani; the universal man he calls "Citizen of the World."

If [a] book be false in its facts, disprove them; if false in its reasoning, refute it. But for God's sake, let us freely hear both sides if we choose. - Thomas Jefferson to N. G. Dufief, 1814.

All truth passes through three stages: First, it is ridiculed; Second, it is violently opposed; and Third, it is accepted as self-evident. - Arthur Schopenhauer
