Overview

"Scrap Book : Turning Trash Into Cash" explores the trade of scrap metal recycling – from a woman’s perspective. Any day of the week a scrapper can venture out and find plenty of metal items. Some scrappers look strictly for the big items; others prefer to take what they can get. It all adds up. After reading this book, the reader may never be able to drive by garbage barrels and dumpsters without affixing their eyes on the boxes and the things hanging out, in the hope of finding metal. Recycling metal is cash in the bank.

About the Author

By the age of eight years old, Marie was writing poetry and stories, following in the footsteps of her father, Victor L. Serio. Marie became a published poet in her late twenties, and in 1991 her first book of poetry, "And Now.....My Thoughts" was published.
For 24 years she was a freelance feature story writer for local newspapers, as well as editor of "Poetry Corner," which she initiated. During those years, Marie worked with Special Ed students, and then returned to being a pharmacy tech. Presently, she has completed a children's book of autumn poetry, and a novella for adult reading, both to be published soon. Her hobby of "traditional letter writing" soon evolved into doing a card ministry, writing to the lonely, shut-in's, the ill, and those less fortunate.
