Paula Amelia Scott earned her PhD. in American History from UCLA. She is the author of three books: Growing Old in the Early Republic: Spiritual, Social, and Economic Issues, 1790-1830 (1997), Santa Monica: A History on the Edge (2004), and Scott-Coil Ancestors: Historical Profiles from the Family Tree (2023).
