Evans (Harvard U.) collects seven essays of her late colleague, Professor Levin, a major Shakespeare critic. The essays (1959-96) were to be part of a planned larger study to examine what French critics term the "scene a faire," defined by Levin in the appended review as "... the scene that makes the play."
