Overview

We all have experienced pain at one time or another in our lives. An unsettling feeling occurs inside of us, when the body suffers pain. We often question the unknown. We ask questions like, "Why did this happen to me? What is happening?" It is a normal instinct to question things we don't understand. Many times, our search for answers goes amiss. Oftentimes, due to the severity and the circumstances of events, we may never know why some things happen.
People have been known to suppress memories in their subconscious mind. Events that were too painful for them to handle; they would place them on a back burner and/or block them out altogether. People have been known to suspend a bad memory, until a time they are better able to handle it. They try to make sense of what occurred for them to move on to the next chapter of their life. In time, some have become strong advocates to the very thing that tried to destroy them.
But what happens when one can't transition and move on? Sometimes the misfortunes of one's life engulfs them and stagnates their progress. They find themselves in a pit. They can't seem to escape.
Pits are malicious devices use to keep us from reaching our full potential. They come into our lives to distract us and get us off course. They will hit us where we are most vulnerable. When one remains in a pit, they can't move forward. As a result, they live beneath their full potential. By succumbing to these misfortunes, the human soul, mind, and spirit becomes stifled and are unable to flourish. It happens when their circumstances begin to speak louder to them more than life itself. It shuts down their ability to have sound reasoning. They become overtaken by what has occurred, thereby making them powerless to it.
Let's face it! None of us will escape from challenges in our lives. They will happen to us more times than we will like. Oftentimes, at the worse time possible, the unpredictable will occur. None of us are exempt from pain. We will have to deal with situations that are out of our control. We have an enemy, and it is his job to caused havoc. The enemy of our soul comes to kill, steal, and destroy. He will use whatever trickery and devices he chooses to entrap us. It is he who daily exploits man; by trying to enslave us with his schemes.
The time when we are at our weakest, the adversary will often strike. He normally hits us at a place or time in our lives where we are most likely unable to fight back. It is his purpose to cause us harm and to destroy us by whatever means necessary. No matter what happens to us, it is still our choice of how we choose to deal with it. It is dangerous to be controlled by sin. It is dangerous to operate in a place of brokenness. Sin is vicious and has no conscience nor perimeters.
