Reaching back to 1937, 1944, and 1941, respectively, these are the final volumes in Burroughs's "Pellucidar" series about a prehistoric world, complete with monstrous beasts and cave people, that still exists 500 miles beneath the earth's surface. Protagonists David Innes and Abner Perry get themselves in and out of more trouble. Although Tarzan was dragged into an earlier Pellucidar outing, he seems to have found his way back to the jungle and is absent from this trio.
